Metro 2033 is an action game based on a famous Russian novel set in the post apocalyptic Moscow, after a nuclear holocaust. In this futuristic game you will live underground struggling to survive, fighting horrible creatures (mutants) that appeared as a consequence of the pollution and poisonous world. The game is a single player first-person shooter which offers many local games modes allowing you to increase the power of your enemies as well as decrease yours to make the game more challenging for advanced players.
There is something not typical for this type of game is that the only thing you can see on the screen is your gun. What is more, there is no health meter, so you must listen carefully to your heartbeats and amount of blood stains on the screen to be aware of your health condition in order to use your medikits wisely. Also, there's a gas mask that you must use on certain occasions and you must change the filter from time to time. You can get to know when to change your filter by looking at your wristwatch or just by hearing how the character breathes. If he breathes heavily, it's time to change it. The ammunition in the game is scarce, so you need to save it and use very carefully, that is really hard since most scenarios are dark, and it is really difficult to target your enemies without shooting several times. All the necessary items can be found as you play and also can be exchanged for the things you need more.
Regarding the graphics, they are very impressive and realistic, making the game absolutely real and frightening. Sounds play an important part in this game, so they are extremely good and detailed.
In short, Metro 2033 is an original shooter that is full of action and emotions, that together with a well-created atmosphere and setting, make the game a must-have for shooter fans.
